Kinder Bueno Cookie Recipe Baking Tips

If it’s your first time baking Kinder Bueno Cookies at home be sure to review our detailed step-by-step recipe below. Here are some helpful tips and tricks to get you started:

  • We suggest using a high quality rubber spatula when mixing the batter so you can easily stir and scrape down the side of the bowl.
  • We like to use a stand mixer to save time but you can go old school and prepare the dough using a large mixing bowl and spatula.
  • You can add additional crunch to the cookie by adding chopped roasted hazelnuts to the dough.
  • We’ve used dark chocolate chips in this recipe but you can also use chopped Kinder Bueno chocolate as a substitute.
  • Bake the dough balls on a cookie sheet and use parchment paper so the cookies are easy to remove hot out of the oven.
  • We do not suggest stuffing the dough with Kinder Bueno wafers or baking the wafers on top of the cookies as they melt and get very messy. It’s best to bake the cookies and when they are hot out of the oven, press the Kinder Bueno wafers into the centre. Once they cool they’ll stick together nicely.

What To Serve With Kinder Bueno Cookies

There’s no better time to serve a Kinder Bueno Cookie then during the holiday baking season. While these festive cookies can be enjoyed year round, we think they are a great way to use up Kinder Bueno Wafer Cookies you’re gifted at Christmas. We often bake them for New Years Eve parties for that very reason!

Stack the cookies on a plate or spread them across a tray as an easy dessert that requires no utensils and minimal cleanup. If you’re keen to gift homemade Christmas cookies at a holiday party pack them in a festive tin with a thank you card to your host.

We most often like to serve the cookies on their own, or with a hot pot of tea or coffee.

You can also serve a decadent ice cream sundae by placing one of the cookies in a bowl and serving with a scoop of homemade Gianduja Hazelnut Chocolate Truffle Ice Cream, chopped hazelnuts and drizzle of warm Nutella. Since kids love ice cream sandwiches, you can simply smush two cookies between a scoop of ice cream and serve.

While Kinder Bueno Cookies can be enjoyed year round, we especially like to serve them at holiday cookie swaps and at New Years Parties.
