The Slate Phuket Hotel Restaurants
No review of The Slate Phuket Resort is complete until you’ve had an opportunity to wag your finger down each of the hotel’s marvellous menus.
The luxury hotel in Phuket offers guests 6 restaurants, from casual poolside snacks to authentic Thai dishes in a romantic fine dining room featured in the Michelin Guide.
Black Ginger
Black Ginger stands as a contemporary culinary marvel, celebrated by the esteemed Michelin Guide from 2019 to 2022.
Nestled within an ornate Thai mansion, overlooking a sparkling lagoon, the hotel’s signature restaurant is a true testament to Thai artistry and an absolute must-try culinary experience when visiting Phuket.
Black Ginger may just be the most dramatic restaurant arrival I’ve ever experienced. Skip down a glowing al fresco hall to stand at the end of a dock lit by flaming torches. A crew of 3 transport guests across a lily pond on umbrella topped rope ferry, which transports foodies into an otherworldly tropical paradise that feels like you’re going to have dinner with Indian Jones.
G
Award-winning chefs expertly reimagine age-old local recipes, crafting Instagram-worthy dishes that cater to discerning palates of adventurous eaters.
Guests can book Chef Piak’s orchestrated tasting menus or order a la carte. Highlights from the Black Ginger menu include Gian Thod Phuket Crunchy Sausage, Pla Nham Roasted Fish Salad, Moo Hong Stewed Pork Belly, Goong Yang Grilled River Prawns, and Gaeng Lueang Pla Yellow Grouper Curry.
Rivet & Rebar
Rivet is an intriguing design-led destination, with its dramatic, industrial-chic interiors, enveloping diners in the alluring fragrances of a Brazilian open-fired grill and smokehouse.
I suggest starting your evening next door at Rebar, a trendy cocktail bar and lounge serving exotic sips best enjoyed at sunset.
After sipping a rum and passion fruit muddled libation I skipped into the Rivet dining room to indulge in the restaurant’s signature surf & turf, which features grilled Phuket lobster and mouth-watering beef tenderloin.
Meat eaters find happiness at the Rivet dining room, sipping fine wine while Brazilian beats waft through the warm air. Highlights from the South American-inspired Rivet menu include Smoked Prawn Salad, Hamachi Carpaccio, Whole Phuket Lobster with Jalapeno Sauce, and Australian Tomahawk Steak with Chimichuri.
Tin Mine
Each morning guests at The Slate Phuket gather at Tin Mine to indulge in a epic breakfast buffet.
Feast on an epic breakfast buffet, including delectable Thai local snacks, freshly baked bread and pastries, a wonderful assortment of deli meats and cheeses, egg station, DIY noodle soup bar and fresh tropical fruits.
The resort’s all-day-dining concept is a casual spot to stop for lunch or dinner, featuring a diverse East meets West menu.
Must-try dishes include Sashimi Salad, Sizzling Fajitas, Capricciosa Pizza, Penne Fruitt di Mare, Nam Tok Beef Salad, Laab Moo Gai, Roasted Duck Red Curry and Steamed Bass Fillet with fresh herbs.
Tongkah Tin Syndicate
Step into a lively, open-air snooker hall and find yourself in an eclectic dreamland, where everyone immediately takes a selfie.
Look up and you’ll find automated Indian circular fans that slowly dance across the ceiling, keeping the interior of the bar cool with a gentle breeze.
Sip in style on exotic concoctions, rare whiskies and craft cocktails as day turns into night. Finger-licking-good snacks and hearty dishes are the perfect companion to an ice cold beer and fun game of pool at The Slate’s favourite social space.
Highlights from the Tongkah Tin Syndicate menu include Empanadas, Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Halifax Nachos, Spicy Beef Kebab and selection of gourmet pizzas.
Underground Cafe & Poolside
If you’re spending a day relaxing by one of the hotel’s jaw-dropping infinity pools enjoy a midday nosh at Underground Cafe & Poolside.
Feel the Andaman sea breeze from the decks of the relaxing open-air café, right by the water’s edge. Let natural, fresh ingredients nourish and nurture. Indulge in wholesome salads, creative light bites and Thai specialities.
Highlights from the Underground Cafe menu which can be enjoyed poolside include Dungeness Crab Cakes, Prawn Arancini, selection of healthy salad bowls, house made pastas, thin crust pizzas, gourmet sandwiches, and burgers.
Pulley Pool & Bar
This exclusive adults-only sanctuary boasts a modern angular design with industrial touches, accompanied by a mesmerizing waterfall and invigorating in-pool water jets.
At the heart of it all, a vibrant swim-up bar awaits, pulsating with fresh beats and offering daring and innovative cocktails that will tantalize your senses.
Pair a mint muddled mojito with our favourite dishes on the Pulley Pool & Bar menu including Watermelon Tomato Salad, Spicy Salmon Poke Bowl, Phad Thai, and spicy Phad Kaprao.
