Malliouhana History
Originally launched in the mid-1980s, Malliouhana played a pivotal role in putting Anguilla on the global luxury travel map. At a time when the island was relatively unknown, the resort quickly became a benchmark for Caribbean hospitality, celebrated for its service, design, and culinary excellence.
After decades of success, the property closed in 2012 and underwent a significant transformation. It reopened in 2014 under the Auberge Resorts Collection, marking a new chapter that preserved its legacy while modernizing the guest experience.

Malliouhana’s design is a masterclass in balancing heritage with modern Caribbean aesthetics. The renovation opened up sightlines to the sea, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow that immerses guests in the surrounding landscape.
Inside, the resort blends soft tropical hues like mint, mango, saffron, and white inspired by sand and sea. You’ll also find intricate craftsmanship via chinoiserie, mirrored tiles, vintage artifacts and eye-catching Haitian artwork.
