Book A Luxurious Holiday at Capella Bangkok Hotel
The Capella Hotels and Resorts collection consists of over-the-top luxury properties in Singapore, Bangkok, Hanoi, Bali, Shanghai, and Sydney.
In 2023, Capella Bangkok was ranked 11th best hotel in the world by World’s 50 Best. The exceptional hospitality brand focuses on crafting authentic, cultural experiences for its guests, combining a legacy of thoughtful design with the highest level of personalized service.
Capella Bangkok is a new-age urban resort located on the bank of the Chao Phraya River in the heart of Thailand’s capital. It officially opened its doors in October, 2020.
Guests can experience the authentic charm of Charoen Krung and nearby Talad Noi, a historic neighbourhood that combines tradition and modernity, with trendy art galleries, cafes and restaurants tucked inside old shophouses.

Conceived from the ground-up by celebrated architecture partnership, Hamiltons International, with interiors by tastemakers BAMO, Capella Bangkok introduces new design ethics to one of Bangkok’s most storied neighbourhoods.
This sleek and stylish development breaks down the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces with vast swathes of floor-to-ceiling glass, ensuring panoramic views of the river from all areas of the property, including the 101 suites and villas, and restaurants.
Guests enter the property from the famous Charoen Krung Road, past the Wat Sutthi Wararam Temple. Initially shielded from view, the river is dramatically revealed upon entering the hotel through the screened hotel façade.
The lobby blends a sophisticated palette of light wood, warm upholstery, marble floors, mirrored surfaces, intricate carvings and crystalline water features. A lobby-length lily pond draws the eye over the treetops of the spa garden and down to the river beyond.
Upon arrival guests are ushered into the Living Room, where they are invited to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and truffles at check in…moments before being whisked up to jaw-dropping suites and villas.

Capella Bangkok Hotel Activities
The Capella Bangkok Hotel features 101 rooms, suites and villas, all with floor-to-ceiling windows allowing guests to take in jaw-dropping river views.

Your Capella Culturist will provide a full itinerary of activities and events hosted in the Living Room during your stay.

The hotel’s wellness and recreational facilities include a luxurious spa with 7 treatment rooms and 2 romantic couples suites, steam room, sauna, tropical garden, relaxation longe, and state of the art fitness centre.
The outdoor saltwater pool at Capella Bangkok is set within a garden area, decked out with a choir of plush lounge chairs and umbrellas. Poolside service is on point, staff rushed over to place fitted towels over lounge chairs, providing water, menus, sunscreen and sliced watermelon on ice.
Capella Bangkok features four distinct dining outlets, from traditional Thai dishes to multi-course Mediterranean cuisine by a Michelin Star Chef.
Guests also enjoy access to a complimentary boat shuttle to IconSiam and Sathorn Pier.

Capella Bangkok Hotel Accommodation
The most important question you have to ask yourself when reading a Capella Bangkok Hotel review is, “what type of accommodation would I like to book for my holiday.”

Each guest room is designed as an urban oasis with panoramic views of the river, with many offering a tropical outdoor space, including rooftop terraces, gardens, spacious salas and even private plunge pools at the riverside villas – a first of its kind accommodation in Bangkok, making it a truly unique city hotel.

Auriga Wellness
Capella Bangkok’s luxurious spa sanctum, Auriga Wellness, is a world all if its own.
This riverside hotel’s sense of waterside space and serenity is further reflected at Auriga Wellness, which has been created by spa specialists GOCO Hospitality, in collaboration with leading Thai interior design house PIA. The exclusive 1,000-square metre sanctuary is adorned with modern Asian elements and is elevated by an oriental garden.

The Capella Bangkok Spa features 7 treatment rooms (including 2 gorgeous spa suites), a thermal bathing area, naturally lit tea lounge with outdoor spa garden and a well-equipped 24 hour fitness centre.
The spa program balances the heritage of Chinese medicine, Indian healing rituals and time-honoured Thai techniques, like Tok Sen, a hammer massage introduced to Bangkok by settlers from Chiang Mai.

The spa worked with luxury skincare brand 111SKIN to design a range of signature facial and body wrap therapies, which can be enjoyed alongside body scrubs, massages and cleansing rituals.
A series of fitness classes such as yoga, tai chi, persona training, TRX workouts and Muay Thai help invigorate the mind and body.

Gallery
Gallery is Capella Bangkok’s retail boutique selling a range of Thai branded premium products, perfect for gift giving.
Items on offer includes kitchenware, art, soap, jewelry, handbags and limited edition sports gear (the leather boxing gloves made us swoon), which is a collaboration between Capella Bangkok and Fysik.
Guests can also purchase Capella Bangkok branded items including resort bags and bathrobes.

Capella Bangkok Hotel Restaurants
No Capella Bangkok Hotel review is complete until you’ve had an opportunity to wag your finger down each of the hotel’s marvellous menus.
The luxury riverside hotel in Bangkok offers guests 4 restaurant concepts, from traditional Thai specialities to a fancy French restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide.
The culinary team prides itself on sourcing locally whenever possible and preparing many food products in house. I was wowed by the breakfast spread each morning, featuring house-churned butters, and house made preserves, bacon, sausages, and cured meats. Many of the cheeses on the buffet are produced in Thailand (who knew they were making a divine stinky blue cheese in Chiang Mai?) and one morning they even had a bowl of house-made ricotta. Impressed!

Phra Nakhon
Each morning hotel guests arrive at Phra Nakhon to indulge in a sumptuous breakfast buffet, which is nothing short of incredible.
A sun-washed conservatory nestled in a lush garden by the river’s edge, Phra Nakhon hosts the hotel’s daily breakfast buffet, traditional Thai lunch and dinner and nightly Cin Cin Hour.
The cheeses and house cured charcuterie were at the level you’d expect in a top French or Italian restaurant. Start by exploring flaky pastries and artfully designed fruit platters. Wag your finger down the a la carte breakfast menu and you’ll find truffle eggs benedict, Belgian waffles, breakfast lasagna, Okayu Suzki, and Chilled Green Tea Soba Noodles.

We suggest sampling the more interesting options in the Japanese and Thai sections of the breakfast menu. Wake up to the world by indulging in fluffy Tokyo-style Omurice or Thai Joke Mhoo congee.
If you’re keen to enjoy an elevated taste of Thailand when in Bangkok Phra Nakhon’s lunch and dinner menus showcase rustic family recipes handed down through generations. Highlights from the diner menu include Pomelo Salad, Turmeric Shrimp Fritters, Roasted Kurobuta Pork Belly and Duck Breast Red Curry.
Sip an ice-cold pint of Singha while dining under the twinkle of lights on the Phra Nakhan riverside terrace. Slurp Pad Thai noodles and wave off that spicy curry while watching a parade of boats sailing by under the night sky.

Each evening at 5pm guests gather at Phra Nakhon to indulge in an evening ritual called Cin Cin Hour. Thai inspired aperitif and bite-sized canapes are enjoyed just as the sun is beginning to set over Bangkok.
A bartender ladles traditional Thai Yadong, a spirit featuring indigenous herbs and spices that is best muddled into a Negroni-style tipple. Canapes floating around the al fresco space included Thai beef salad wrapped in betel leaf, shrimp chips with chili paste, and shredded chicken topped pomelo salad.

Côte By Mauro Colagreco
Côte is a one-Michelin-starred, sophisticated, and welcoming Riviera-inspired dining experience by lauded 3 Michelin Star Chef Mauro Colagreco.
Mauro Colagreco has forged a style of his own, born of his Argentinian heritage, the chefs with whom he trained, and his strong intuition as he draws on the local culture on both sides of the French-Italian border.
His restaurant in France, Mirazur, was awarded Three Michelin Stars and ranked 1st in San Pellegrino’s 2019 “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”. Mauro Colagreco was also voted “The Best Chef in the World” by Le Chef Compilation 2019.

Settle into light-drenched, elegant interiors with panoramic views of the shimmering Chao Phraya River for an unforgettable romantic dinner in Bangkok.
The menu offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional recipes of the French and Italian Riviera, from Nice to Genoa.
Available for lunch and dinner service, the always evolving menu at Côte in Bangkok is served as a range of multi-course menus, including ‘carte blanche’, which sees a surprise meal play out over nine dishes. That might mean local sea urchin with cauliflower, langoustine with tomatoes and dried fruit or salt-crusted beetroot with caviar sauce.
Regional suppliers and a kitchen greenhouse fuel it all. The gin trolley and plentiful wine selection are impressive features too! Be sure to have your server give you a tour of the wine cellar before your leave!

Stella
Capella Bangkok’s moody cocktail bar is simply called Stella. The bar itself is visually striking, featuring a stuffed albino peacock, cosier room filled with sofas, extravagant four poster lounge beds and grand piano.
Here the cocktails are inspired by 4 iconic female bartending legends who helped revolutionize the cocktail industry: Ada Coleman from the legendary America Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel, Maria Dolores Boadas who was dubbed the grand dame of the European cocktail scene while slinging drinks at Barcelona’s oldest cocktail bar, actress Rita Hayworth who was the inspiration for the margarita, and Jay Perrine America’s foremost bourbon expert.

The chic riverfront parlour is managed by Song Terbsiri. He has earned top spots in prestigious competitions such as Diplomatico Go Local Challenge 2018, the Mixology F&B Master Thailand 2019 and Diageo World Class Thailand 2022.
We suggest popping by for a late night tipple, when the room fills with soulful voices and sultry live music. Pair your punch with a few nibbles if you’re feeling peckish such as Lobster Nori Rolls, Foie Gras Cigars, and Panipuri.

Tea Lounge
Remarkable river views and a calming lily pond are the backdrop for daytime refreshments and high teas at Capella Bangkok.
Embark on your own bespoke loose leaf journey, with a choice of premium varieties, along with fresh herbal and floral infusions, which can be savoured whilst soaking up the ambience of the historical river.

Capella Bangkok’s award-winning Executive Pastry Chef, Sylvain Constans, has created a Signature High Tea Experience with a Dessert Trolley of dainty delicacies.
For a truly indulgent experience afternoon tea in Bangkok, the Tea Lounge also presents Capella Bangkok Signature Diamant Champagne, bottled exclusively for the hotel by the Vranken Pommery house.
Plain and raisin scones are served with clotted cream, and house-made strawberry jam and spiced apple preserve. Four pretty savouries can be enjoyed with 6 of the eye-popping cakes from the trolly if you’re dining as a pair.

Kin
Kin is the hotel’s colourful patisserie located directly beside Gallery and the entrance to Phra Nakhon.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth you can purchase pretty pastries and cakes as well as crunchy French macarons and quality coffee and tea. The signature must-try sweet is a Japanese Roll Cake.
If you don’t have time to indulge in Afternoon Tea all of the cakes served out of the trolly can be purchased here to take home.

Pinto Pool Service
Capella Bangkok’s turquoise saltwater pool is lined with white marble topped with a choir of comfy loungers and chic wooden cabanas.
Attentive and friendly poolside service includes complimentary sunscreen, towels, iced water, and watermelon slices served on crushed ice.
If you’re feeling peckish wag your finger down the menu and you’ll find craft cocktails, fine champagne, ice-cold beer and selection of both Thai and Western specialties served inside pinto boxes.
