Book A Luxurious Holiday at Banyan Tree Bangkok

Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts is a Singaporean hotel brand, which operates 55 luxury resorts throughout AsiaAmericasAfrica and the Middle East. Founder Ho Kwon Ping and his wife Claire Chiang opened the first Banyan Tree property in Phuket, making it a special gem within the brands luxury collection.

Banyan Tree Bangkok first opened its doors in Thailand’s capital 26 years ago. It was the 4th property to be established by Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. Located in the central business district on South Sathon Road, the hotel is just 40 minutes away from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, near Lumpini Park and Silom Shopping Complex.

The urban oasis is a high-rise hotel, where guests can enjoy the lush greenery of Romsai Garden along with a beautiful waterfall view from the hotel’s spacious lobby. Upon arrival guests are greeted by the sweet perfume of fresh flower arrangements and a famous art piece by Thailand’s own Thongchai Srisukprasert.

His famous work “The Power of Change in Nature” is an abstract piece, which depicts the circulation movement in aesthetic harmony with a masterful interpolation of philosophies and logical thinking in geometric forms, the human state of emotions in organic abstract shapes, and ancient Chiang Mai patterns.

We suggest treating yourself to the spa’s signature treatment called “Royal Banyan”, which delivers the best of Eastern and Western massage techniques to improve blood circulation and ease muscle aches, featuring a warm herbal pouch dipped in sesame oil.

After your treatment rest and relax at the spa’s steam room and sauna before enjoying a complimentary 30-minute Calm Time where healthy refreshments are served. We enjoyed a hot lemon tea with juicy pineapple chunks wrapped in paper-thin cantaloupe.

Banyan Tree Bangkok Restaurants & Bars

No Banyan Tree Bangkok Hotel review is complete until you’ve had an opportunity to wag your finger down each of the hotel’s marvellous menus.

The hotel boasts 10 food and beverage concepts, divided into 7 restaurants and 3 bars that promise to leave an excellent impression on the palate.

Romsai

Located on the hotel’s lower lobby floor, Romsai is where guests enjoy casual dining at an all-day casual culinary concept.

The dining room overlooks a lush tropical garden and waterfall, its elegant and understated tones juxtaposed with a more dramatic culinary experience.

A buffet of à la minute cooking stations provide drama and action, which collide as Asian and global cuisines are prepared before your very eyes. In addition, the creative à la carte lunch and dinner menu brings together the best of Eastern and Western fare, as well as an excellent wine list from the resident sommelier.

The always popular breakfast buffet allows guests to savour fresh-from-the-oven croissants, warm Danish pastries, an a-la-carte egg menu, sumptuous noodles, congee and Japanese dishes.

At lunch and dinner, guests are spoilt for choice with the variety of freshly prepared à la carte dishes, from local delights like Pad Thai to international favourites like imaginative pasta creations, fresh seafood and grilled meat.

Banyan Tree Bangkok offers two settings to enjoy Afternoon Tea. I sipped a hot pot of loose leaf at Romsai while nibbling through savoury seafood snacks, sweet French cakes and pastries and matcha ice cream topped with a whisper of fluffy torched meringue.

On a sunny day you can enjoy afternoon tea in the tropical outdoor garden overlooking the waterfall, or keep cool inside on a comfy pillow topped couch.

Vertigo

With a 240-guest capacity, Vertigo, located on the rooftop of the Banyan Tree Bangkok, comes alive at sunset for nocturnal festivity in full view of the Thai capital.

This sophisticated dining establishment sits on a former helipad and comes alive at sunset. Sculpted with escalated platforms and low walls to ensure outstanding 360° panoramas of the city, its décor is trendy and sleek with stainless steel cutlery and funky music to add to the avant-garde ambience.

The iconic grill-and-bar rooftop experience was an Asia first. Dine on fork-tender seafood and premium steaks while feasting your eyes on the city’s vast skyline, and enjoy cocktails from the Moon Bar.

Highlights from the Vertigo menu include a “dressed to impress” seafood platter, Japanese Miyazaki Tenderloin, and Crab Tempura Maki.

For many years Moon Bar has been named as one of the world’s top 10 rooftop bars. Located alongside Vertigo restaurant, Moon Bar puts you at ease in an informal setting 61 floors above the city and serves cocktails that will take your breath away as much as the romantic views.

A visit to Vertigo is a must-do for any foodie visiting Bangkok. When dining at the jaw-dropping rooftop one feels as though they are mixing and mingling at the United Nations. In our corner of the terrace romantic couples and wide-eyed families from United States, Spain, Australia, Brazil and Hong Kong clinked glasses of wine to celebrate a truly memorable meal.

For good reason, Vertigo Restaurant at Banyan Tree is ranked as the best restaurant with a view in Bangkok.

Vertigo Too

Vertigo TOO offers an exceptional bar experience on the hotel’s 60th floor. The arched ceiling of this indoor bar is dotted with lights, mimicking a starry night.

The futuristic interior with a touch of class is a perfect setting to unwind. Plush long sofa beds line both sides of the venue, serving as comfortable loungers while you feast your eyes to two stunning views: the sea of lights that is Bangkok at night on one side and the Chao Phraya River on the other.

Ordering drinks is a combination of entertainment and self-expression, as a mixologist creates a personalized experience for you from the cocktail trolley.

Adding merriment to each night is the careful selection of entertainment; a relaxing playlist for patrons who arrive early, a mellow tune by a 3-piece live band during dinner time and live DJ sets to dance the night away with.

Visit Saturday or Sunday between 1-4pm to experience the hotel’s beloved Garden of Senses Afternoon Tea. Guests pair TWG teas or coffee with a dramatic high tea presentation featuring sweet and savoury bites.

Highlights from the Banyan Tree Bangkok Afternoon Team menu include Melon Bouquet, Cream Corn Cheese Croquette, Lobster on Brioche, Chestnut Mont Blanc Tart, Flower Filo Raspberry.

Spoil yourself with the best of the chef’s signature Thai dishes, which include seared Tasmanian salmon with crisp pork crackling and a spicy citrus dressing, and banana blossom salad with perfectly grilled and marinated prawns served with a coconut dressing and fried banana flowers.

We noshed on mouth-watering dishes like deep fried soft shell crab papaya salad, crispy fried corn fritters, and a beef short rib massaman curry, which was served with roti flatbread and decadent buttery and flaky French croissant.
