Kimpton Mas Olas first opened in April 2024, making it one of the newest luxury resorts on Baja California’s Pacific Coast. I was excited to visit the property after a recent stay at Kimpton Virgilio in Mexico City.
The Kimpton hotel was developed to be an intimate, adults-only alternative to larger Los Cabos resorts, with a strong emphasis on wellness, gardens and regionally sourced dining.
The hotel is inspired by Baja’s pueblo and coastal vernacular: low-lying, whitewashed adobe, pueblo-style volumes, terraces that integrate indoor and outdoor living, and carefully framed ocean and mountain views.
Materials and finishes intentionally reference local craft, handmade tiles, native woods and woven textures, so the architecture reads as modern but rooted in a sense of place.
