The quintessential perfect summer weekend involves partying on Friday and Saturday evenings and crawling to The Hamilton Hotel rooftop pool party on Sunday mornings. You have to get there early to secure a lawn chair. A DJ plays all day, beer cans are thrown into the pool. Expats and fashion conscious young Koreans mix and mingle in the sun. I also made friends with a few Yakuza (Japanese Mafia) who were wearing Velvet Thongs and had tattoos all over their bodies. They stuck out like a sore thumb as tattoo’s are illegal in Korea (lame I know). There really is nothing better than chatting with a bunch of Japanese gangsters in thongs 30 stories above one of the largest cities in the world while splashing your feet into the cool water pool-side!
