Teaterbrasseriet Restaurant in Stockholm

My second dinner in Stockholm was at Teaterbrasseriet located in the lobby of my hotel, The Scandic Grand Central. We started off our meal at the bar where we sampled six of the restaurants signature cocktails. After sweetening our pallets with these elixirs we were whisked off to the dining room where we sat on a comfy window side bench.

My guests, Mariel and Anton provided excellent company and most importantly helped me sample as many dishes on the menu as possible. Teaterbrasseriet offers up honest and well executed dishes with a focus on Swedish comfort food and other Europeans classics. Mariel adored the artichoke and pork knuckle soup, Anton was a fan of the vasterbotten cheese risotto and I particularly enjoyed the classic plate of Swedish meatballs. Be sure to make your reservation for the late evening as live DJ plays in the cafe and live music starts blasting in the upstairs lounge as the city embraces the whimsy of the warm summer evening.

Hennessy Vs stirred with almond syrup, lime juice and bitters

Gosling Black Seal rum shaken with orange juice, pineapple juice, sweetened with coconut cream and charged with fresh nutmeg and cinnamon

My Style

Bacardi superior rum, Campari and Amaretto shaken with Acacia honey, mint and lime juice

Sleepless in the South

Bulleit bourbon shaken with apricot liquer, lemon juice, egg white and bitters, sweetened with an homemade soderblanding syrup

Lemon Tart

Smirnoff vodka and Galliano shaken with lemon juice, vanilla sugar and lemon curd then finished with Graham Beck Brut

Walking Ginger

J.W. Red and Marschino liquor shaken with lemon juice, balanced sugar syrup and spiced up with a touch of fresh ginger and ginger beer

red wine braised ox cheek with onion, pork belly and mushroom ragout with potato and celery pure

Risotto

Vasterbotten cheese, black salsify and herbs

green apple sorbet, vanilla spiced caramel sauce and “Swedish Dreams Cookies”

Choklad Paron Mint

chocolate mousse flavoured with mint and served with pears in three ways
