How To Make a Bellagio Tango Cocktail
The classic Tango Cocktail was originally invented in the 1920s, when Argentine dance took Europe and North America by storm.
Bartenders capitalized on the fad, shaking up gin, orange juice and grenadine, to produce a drink that appeared like the fiery dresses worn by tango dancers on stage.
Fast forward to 2003 and the cocktail was reinterpreted by bartenders at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The modern creation continues to use gin but adds passion fruit liqueur and grapefruit juice as an homage to South America’s love for tropical fruits.
This combination delivers a vivid, luscious flavour: tart grapefruit balanced by the sweet, tropical depth of passion fruit liqueur, all lifted by the botanical edge of gin.
It’s sweet and fruity forwardness make it a great brunch cocktail or summer poolside sipper.
