Review: Thompson Diner, Toronto

King West Village (King and Bathurst) is now home to Toronto’s newest 5 Star Hotel. The Thompson chain of boutique art infused, restaurant savvy hotel concepts from the States has arrived in Toronto with a few interesting dinning options.

The Thompson Diner is the hotels more chilled out (read affordable elegance) establishments. As soon as I walked into the King West restaurant lobby I fell in love. I felt like I was in a movie for some reason and instantly thought “this is the perfect place to take someone on a first date.” Take note singles!

A modern interpretation of the classic diner, Thompson Diner features rich banquets and sleek, full-service bar. The breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night menus feature classic diner bites with a refined twist along with artisanal beers and signature cocktails.

I met Mel here for lunch just before the TIFF Bell Lightbox officially opened to the public. Everything we ate was memorable (the food and the conversation, fancy that!)
