CJ Lunchbox at Richmond and Spadina is a cheap sushi eats restaurant with an energetic and charismatic owner who keeps people coming back again and again. The restaurant promotes one special a day which is typically half the price of the normal offering. Each special features a roll of sushi with warm pork dumpings and a bowl of miso soup.
The owner of the restaurant, I wiry and always smiling Japanese man, gives each customer a nickname. I was instantly dubbed “David Beckham” because of my hair (not my physique unfortunately) and my companion Marissa was dubbed Barbara Streisand because she is a jew. Ha! At my first visit to Lunch Box I enjoyed a tempura sweet potato roll with pork dumplings and miso soup.
