Review: Krispy Kreme, Toronto

Krispy Kreme came to Canada in the early 2000’s right when people started thinking and caring about what fats and carbs they put into their bodies. BAD TIMING to say the least. The majority of stores in Canada closed…but KK is now penetrating the Canadian market once more. The first new concept store (read: tiny little cafe) is located at Bathurst and Harbord intentionally a stones throw from U of T penny pinching students. I visited the store for its grand opening, munched on some donuts, described by my friend Meaghan as “eating sweet pillowy air,” and a 99 cent coffee.

#120 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
