7 Reasons Why You Need to Order Your Next Lunch with Feast

There’s a new meal delivery service in town that is uniquely different from its competitors. Instead of offering up food from local restaurants, Feast serves proprietary meals prepared fresh from its very own Corktown kitchen. The Feast team took over the space formerly occupied by Jamie Kennedy’s Gilead Cafe. That’s where they prepare their menu. Delivery people driving branded bicycles and emission-free BMW i3 electric cars then pick up the meals and ride around downtown Toronto during the lunch rush.

The goal? To provide a premium, healthy, clean food experience at a price point that offers a lot of value. You can order lunch by downloading the Feast App. Right now lunch service runs Monday to Friday from 11:00am to 1:30pm. Service will be expanding to include dinner service in the coming weeks so time-strapped urbanites can devour a healthy and delicious meal when they get home from work (or so late-night worker bees can order energizing meals at the office). The current delivery area is outlined on the map above. The serviceable zone will also expand in the coming weeks to accommodate more of the Toronto neighbourhoods we love.

Here Are 7 Reasons Why You Need to Order Your Next Lunch with Feast:

1) Feast Delivers Organic, Local and Sustainable Food Right to Your Door. Other food delivery services send out other people’s food, acting essentially as a courier service. Feast makes food in their very own kitchen, managing all of their own direct relationships with local growers, producers including partners like Hooked Inc. (sustainable, ocean wise, traceable catch) and Blackbird Baking Co. in Kensington Market.

2) The Feast Menu Offers Good Food For Everyone. The menu reflects Toronto’s melting pot of global flavours and cuisine. Executive Chef Curt Martin (formerly at Harbord Room and THR & Co) has created a menu with his creative culinary team featuring North African flavours to Latin cuisine, Indian spice blends and Japanese! The menu will also switch up regularly to showcase the seasons. Expect hearty stews in the Fall and berry adorned treats come summer. Current favourites on the menu include Seared Albacore Tuna Nicoise ($13), Roasted Pork Shoulder Porchetta Sandwich ($10), Flank Steak Cobb Salad ($13) and Ontario Maple Butter Tarts ($3).

3) Feast Offers an Easy Way to Eat Healthy Everyday. The menu makes for very clean eating, straight from origin to plate (or bowl). It travels directly from their kitchen to your door. They care about maintaining a healthy local food ecosystem, what it means for the quality and nutrient level of ingredients, sustainable farming practices, specifically at a local level.

4) Feast is Dedicated to Offering a 360 Sustainable Meal Solution. They’ve built a company that’s committed to sustainable practices by investing in compostable packaging, a fleet of BMW i3 electric cars, the value of using bikes in a dense urban setting and green kitchen products.

5) Feast is Bringing Good Service Back! Delivery service has never been synonymous with high calibre, premium service. Feast is focusing on experiential to win customers by training their bike servers so they can speak confidently and knowledgeably about the food they are serving (much as you’d expect from your restaurant server). They can talk to you about cooking technique, when to stir in your gremolata, how the poached albacore tuna differs from the canned variety and thanks to responsive technology, attentive servers will text you when your order is en route, and again once they’ve arrived at your door.

6) Feast is a Top Notch Employer. In the age of transparency, they stand behind their entire Feast family and provide their team with a creative, supportive, collaborative place to work. The kitchen and delivery teams are paid a living wage, receive stable employment (no unpaid overtimes) in an environment that promotes work-life balance.
