Book A Luxurious Holiday at Mount Cinnamon Resort
Mount Cinnamon is a historic boutique resort, which spreads out across Grenada’s famed 3 km Grand Anse Beach.
Located a short 15 minute drive north of Maurice Bishop International Airport, Mount Cinnamon Resort is ideally located on the southern end of the island, a stones throw from many of Grenada’s most popular tourist attractions.
Ranked as one of the best luxury hotels in Grenada, Mount Cinnamon Resort’s original buildings date back to the 1970s. The property was purchased by Peter De Savary in 2007 renovated and opened in 2008. It has since changed ownership in 2022 and is now owned by Barry Collymore.
The resort’s accommodations can be found dotted along a steep hillside between swaying palms. The architecture is classic Spanish colonial, featuring clay tile roofs and bright white exteriors that juxtapose nicely with the many brightly coloured bougainvillea that sprout from tropical gardens.
Complimentary shuttles whisk guests from their rooms to the main building (home to the lobby, restaurant, pool and gym) and the beach below.

Accommodation
The most important question you have to ask yourself when reading a Mount Cinnamon Resort review is, “what type of accommodation would I like to book for my holiday.”
The luxury boutique resort in Grenada offers 36 hillside suites and villas, including the Cinnamon Suites, Hacienda Suites, Villas and impressive 3-bedroom Cinnamon Heights Pool Villa.
Enchanting interiors combine contemporary design with bold Caribbean colours, an inviting tropical home away from home. Mount Cinnamon Resort owner Barry Collymore shared, “There is a lot of emphasis on repurposing, so for instance in our Cinnamon Suites, we have artistic pieces that feature sea glass and other materials that were washed up on the beach. We asked Grenadian artists to take these items that may have been considered junk or headed for landfill and make them into something really beautiful.”

Suites comprise large picture frame windows that fully capture the impressive coastal views, a colour palette that references the sand and sea, an airy seating area, and an outdoor patio.
Skip inside one of the spacious Mount Cinnamon Resort suites and you’ll find a Nespresso maker, in-room safe, luxurious linens and plush robes, Bose stereo surround sound, outdoor dining and local bath amenities infused with cinnamon and other local spices.
Nightly turndown service features room touch ups and “goodnight cookies.” Special pillows are available on request to ensure a serene slumber.
Important to note that Mount Cinnamon Resort is indeed located on the side of a steep hill. If you have mobility issues it’s best to book a room in the Hacienda’s as they overlook the pool and are a short walk from the lobby, restaurant and bar. Friendly attendants zip guests up and down from the beach to the highest point on the property, the impressive pool villa. No need to worry about hiking across the property the shuttle service is very convenient.

Mount Cinnamon Resort Spa
Ranked as one of the best spas in Grenada, Cinnamon Spa is the best place to pamper yourself on a beach break holiday.
Guests will find local ingredients utilized throughout the Cinnamon Spa menu, which uses products with essential oils derived from Grenada’s native and exotic plants, such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and hibiscus. Treatments can be taken in the spa, in-villa, or open-air in the beach massage cabana.
Visit the intimate spa and you’ll find two relaxing treatment rooms, designed in the simple bijou style with white walls and large windows overlooking Grand Anse.
Cinnamon Spa offers hot stone massages, facials, body wraps, manicures, pedicures, and deluxe pampering treatment packages.
Book the signature massage and your friendly therapist will apply broad strokes across your body with fragrant cinnamon essential oil, which has a slight tingling effect on your skin similar to menthol.

Mount Cinnamon Grenada Restaurants
No review of Mount Cinnamon Resort is complete until you’ve had an opportunity to wag your finger down the menus from the hotel’s two restaurants.
Known as the ‘Spice Island’, food plays a large part of any holiday in Grenada. At Mount Cinnamon guests can visit the chef’s kitchen garden, sip sorrel muddled cocktails or have the bartender offer a tutored tasting of the islands best rums.
If you’re a traveling foodie be sure to inquire about the popular cooking demos hosted by the resorts culinary team. The chef offers a tour of the garden, talks about local ingredients and then prepares a 3 course lunch. Our friendly chef Janice prepared a traditional Callaloo Soup alongside Creole Barracuda and creamy chocolate mousse.

Beach Cabana
During the day, a short walk through lush tropical gardens leads to the Beach Cabana, where guests will order drinks from 10am until the sun goes down, as well as lunch and the popular Friday night Beach Bonfire and BBQ, and Sunday Brunch.
Lunch at Beach Cabana is best enjoyed after a float in the nearby salty sea. Menu highlights from the midday menu include casual fare like fresh salads, garlicky shrimp brochettes, fried fish sandwiches, lobster rolls and sweet pork ribs.
The resort’s popular beach bar serves classic tropical cocktails like Pina Colada, Rum Punch and Mai Tai’s, as well as ice-cold beer.
On the weekends Beach Cabana hosts a seaside barbecue. Guests can chose their preferred protein (several fresh fish, prawns, pork chops, chicken, and steaks), which are enjoyed with several side dishes like pasta, roasted vegetables and salads. A bonfire blazes on the beach so kids can roast marshmallows under the twinkle of stars.

Savvy’s
Savvy’s welcomes guests for sun-bright, open-air breakfasts in the mornings and romantic candlelit dinners in the evenings, with every table offering far-reaching sea views.
An authentic Grenadian boat hangs on the wall in the dining room, connecting the sun-soaked white interior with the fishermen who cast their nets in search of the chefs fresh catch of the day.
Each morning guests at Mount Cinnamon Resort line up at Savvy’s for a Caribbean-inspired breakfast. The buffet features homemade pastries, fruit platters, cured meats and cheeses, cereal and yogurt station, porridge, and a la minute eggs.
Visit Savvy’s after sunset to tuck into a dinner that draws from local flavours. The seasonal, farm-to-table menu showcases a mix of Indian and Caribbean traditions prepared using local meat and seafood as well as freshly grown vegetables from the garden and nearby plantations.
We spent 2 evenings dining at Savvy’s and were really impressed with the chefs presentation of each dish. Highlights from the menu included Watermelon & Feta Cheese Salad, Chargrilled Shrimp Pasta, and Peanut Crusted Port Tenderloin with braised cabbage, smoked bacon and pumpkin puree.
