Book A Luxurious Holiday at Stonefield Resort in St. Lucia
Stonefield Villa Resort is an exclusive boutique hotel featuring just 17 secluded villas, nestled within a picturesque 26-acre hillside tropical landscape.
Located along a scenic 45 minute drive north of Hewanorra International Airport, Stonefield is ideally located with panoramic views of the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Pitons Mountain Area Historical Landmark.
Ranked as one of the best luxury hotels in St. Lucia, Stonefield is owned and operated by Soufriere-born Anista Brown who purchased the property with her husband in 1973.
The couples daughter, Cybelle Brown, is now the marketing director at Stonefield Villa Resort, “After my parents purchased the site in 1973 they continued to operate it as a working cocoa plantation. We lived as a family in the main house, which is now the events centre. My father, Wayne Brown, a Canadian who met my mum in the late 60’s, designed and built residential homes. The 26 acre estate soon had two beautiful additional cottages on it, which my parents rented out.”
The family would eventually build more villas on the property along with a restaurant and in 1998 launched Stonefield Villa Resort as a paradise island hotel.
Wayne Brown designed and built the resort, inspired by French colonial west Indian architecture, “He had a carpentry shop in Soufriere which still exists today and all of the furniture was designed by him and made locally by his carpentry team including four poster beds and matching side tables. The straw chairs are locally made in a small nearby village,” Cybelle shared.
Cybelle’s brother took over their father’s building business, designing the entrance water fountain out of large Platines, which are large copper basins that former slaves used to dance on cocoa beans.
Checking In At Stonefield Villa Resort
Upon arrival guests receive fresh local fruit juice and a cold towel to freshen up. The reception area was the former main entrance to the Plantation House on Stonefield Estate.
At check-in each guest is given a mobile phone so they can connect with the hotel team based on their needs of the moment. It’s easy to book a spa treatment, private dinner or tour with the onsite concierge.
With keys in hand, guests are then escorted to their villas by front desk staff who offer a room tour and rundown of the property facilities.
My villa had been outfitted with eye-popping flower arrangements, freshly baked banana muffins, sliced tropical fruit and an impressive grazing platter featuring roasted nuts, cheese, charcuterie and crackers.
The fridge is stocked with complimentary bottled water, soda (Sprite and Coke) and cans of Piton Beer.

The luxury boutique resort in Saint Lucia is home to 17 hillside villas, all of which offer private pools, open air garden showers, spacious closets and bespoke West Indian inspired design. The louvres in all the rooms are called “Wayne Brown Louvres” on the island because the resort’s co-founder designed them and used them in all the houses he built in Saint Lucia.
All villas have private pools that vary in size with most being larger than typical plunge pools. They are chlorinated and not heated, with the deep end in some cases being up to 8 feet.
The resort offers 14 one-bedroom villas, 1 two-bedroom villa, 1 three-bedroom villa and a massive five-bedroom villa, which is perfect for a fun family holiday.
Artwork throughout features scenes of the natural surroundings, including indigenous flowers, birds, and tropical fruit, while locally sourced bath amenities are cruelty free, environmentally friendly green skincare products.
Escape Spa
Ranked as one of the best spas in Saint Lucia, Escape Spa is the best place to pamper yourself on a romantic Caribbean holiday.
The boutique spa overlooks the ocean and Petit Piton, featuring two well-appointed treatment rooms as well as pedicure and manicure stations. The spa is located in a former villa built in the 70’s and features eye-popping ocean themed artwork incorporating sea blue, and fish and coral cushions.
Escape Spa services include a range of massage therapies, manicures, pedicures, body scrubs and facials. The spa also has a hair salon with a range of services for weddings, honeymoons, and romantic date nights.
If you’re looking to treat yourself on vacation book the spa’s signature treatment, a luxurious four-hand massage. Two therapists perform custom massage, utilizing locally produced custom skin care products infused with citrus, soursop and sea moss.
The resort also has a small gym with cardio machines and free weights that offer just enough to continue your fitness regime while on vacation. It also has a large terrace for stretching. The fitness centre has two floors with the top floor being a large open yoga studio.
Next to it is a very spacious outdoor yoga deck with stunning views of the Pitons. Yoga and Pilates classes are offered, either as a group or one on one. You can also request in villa yoga sessions.

No review of Stonefield Villa Resort is complete until you’ve had an opportunity to wag your finger down the hotel’s restaurant menus.
Mango Tree Restaurant is all about farm-to-table dining, featuring locally grown organic produce, fragrant spices and freshly caught seafood. Guests love visiting the nearby Paradise Hotel Restaurant for lunch on a sun-soaked beach day.

Take in spectacular views of the resort’s vistas overlooking Petit Piton and the Caribbean Sea while dining al fresco at sunset at Mango Tree Restaurant.
The culinary team uses only fresh local ingredients, including organic herbs, fruits, and vegetables grown on the resort property. Building on authentic Saint Lucian dishes from the recipe books of Stonefield Villa Resort owner Anista Brown, the kitchen prepares elegant dishes that are rooted in local tradition with a modern spin.
Each morning guests line up to enjoy breakfast at Mango Tree Restaurant. The extensive brunch menu features delicious dishes worth waking up for, such as Banana Mango Coconut Pancakes, St Lucian Breakfast (featuring codfish creole & bakes), Salmon Eggs Benedict and Smoothie Bowls.
Each night of the week dinner takes on a different theme. On Thursday guests enjoy a sumptuous Caribbean Buffet and party hosted by a local DJ, Fridays are a chocolate lovers dream featuring savoury dishes infused with local cocoa, on Saturdays guests can partake in a cooking demonstration followed by a lively steel pan performance and Sunday offers a tantalizing Tapas menu.
Paradise Hotel Restaurant
Any guests spending a day at the beach should make a point to enjoy lunch or dinner at the Paradise Hotel Restaurant.
Upon arrival guests are offered lounge chairs as well as a drink and food menu. You can spend all day snorkeling or tanning under breezy palm trees while sipping on ice cold beers or pretty pina coladas. Important to note that the beach service menu is limited, mostly to burgers. We highly recommend sliding on your flip flops and skipping up the stairs to eat in the restaurant, which sits perched over the beach below.
Locals rave about the authenticity of the Paradise Hotel Restaurant menu, which serves classic St Lucian dishes like Macaroni Pie, Chicken or Shrimp Roti, and plates teaming with barbecued ribs, smoked chicken or fried fish.
During our visit half of the dining room was allocated to tour groups who enjoy a traditional lunch after visiting visiting the nearby Sulphur Springs Volcano and the Tet Paul Nature Trail.
Once finished your meal, simply tell your server the name of your villa and they’ll bill the hotel as it’s included in the all inclusive package.

- Tet Paul Nature Trail: if you’re looking to get some exercise while enjoying a unique view of the Piton mountains enjoy a guided hike of the scenic Tet Paul Nature Trail. The trail takes 45 minutes to hike if you’re walking vigorously, ending in a jaw-dropping panorama of Gros Piton.
- Saint Lucia Distillers: is the island’s most famous rum distillery, situated in Roseau. Guided tours give guests a glimpse into how rum is produced, featuring an informative video, stroll through the fermentation room and stills, and an exhibit showcasing the bright colours of Carnival. The tour ends in a tasting room where guests can pour their own samples, from smooth aged rums to sweet cream liqueurs flavoured with coconut and banana.
