- 1 Large White Onion thinly sliced on a mandolin
- Salt & Pepper
- 12 oz Medium Ground Beef 3 oz per smash burger
- 4 oz Cheddar Cheese Slices (4)
- 1 tbsp Mustard
- 1 tbsp Ketchup
- 1/4 cup Sliced Pickles

Form ground beef into 4 lightly packed balls approximately 3 oz each. Place beef balls on a griddle or hot nonstick skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Top with thinly sliced onions and flatten so onion adheres and patties measure 4 inches in diameter.
Cook onion burgers until crisp around edges, 6-8 minutes. Flip burgers, increase heat to high, and cook until well browned on "onion side," about 2 minutes. Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on each bottom bun. Place burgers on buns, add ketchup, mustard and pickles then serve.
