Fairmont Mara Safari Club

LikedOur stay was a unique experience that me and my partner will never forget. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Little details everywhere remind you that this is a luxury experience. The food was world-class. But the best thing is the location next to the Mara River. Hearing the hippos bellowing while in bed inside our tent and our game drives early in the morning with an incredibly knowledgeable and expert Masai driver are the kind of things that will stay with us forever.

LikedWilson our driver - WHAT A LEGEND. Amazing to see all of the animals - saw all of the big 5 on our first day Hippo corner was a great edition Don’t get me started on the food, literally the most flavourful food I have eaten, better than any London restaurant.

DislikedThought the edition of taking a couple of chairs and a drink to watch the sunset (for free..) after your game drive would’ve been great as many competitors provide this

LikedMy husband and I visited for our 2nd anniversary and it was amazing. The safaris were amazing, the camp is located on a private conservancy, so the game viewing is exceptional. We saw a wide variety of animals, including all the big five (except the elusive leopard). Reuben was our guide and he was great, so knowledgeable, experienced, and friendly! The tents were great as well, I loved being woken up by the hippos at dawn. Caleb took care of our tent and made sure we were very comfortable throughout. The masseuse at the Spa was amazing as well, got a great deep tissue massage after a long day out on the Mara. We loved the food, they had a wide range of options to suit all palettes, Francis took care of us during meals throughout our stay, he was excellent. We unfortunately didn’t pack any warm clothes, (we didn’t expect it to be as cold as it was) but there were blankets in all the game drive vehicles and they were a life saver! Caleb also warmed up our bed with a hot water bottle every night.

LikedSecond visit here. A really lovely place and a great location even if you didn't go on any of the free twice-daily safari drives. Nothing quite as relaxing as watching a herd of hippos chilling out in the river. Outside the lodge, the wide open and rolling Mara landscape is a wonderful place to be. The guides know it like the back of their hands and can see what's happening from miles away. The staff in the hotel are great - laid-back and attentive when required. Can't wait to return.

DislikedThe one thing I'd like the management to add is somewhere to do some excercise - a mini indoor or outdoor gym - or both.
