Travel to The Mornington Peninsula, Australia

I spent one lovely weekend with Eleanor and Jesse traveling south of Melbourne to The Mornington Peninsula. We stayed at the iconic Portsea Pub and visited the town of Mornington which has one long main street heading down to the beach and pier.

Highlights of the trip included a visit to a famous little chocolate shop, scenic views of peninsula at sunset, window shopping at interior design and art shops, and hanging out at the pier and surrounding cutesy and colourful beach cottages.

We also did a bit of a wine tour as the region is dotted with the best wineries in Victoria. We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the T’Gallant wineries La Baracca Trattoria rustic restaurant. The sun was shining through the windows and at one point shot itself onto our table like a spot light on our cheesecake (heaven sent)! The winery had some great wines and are famous for their thin crust pizzas. A visit to the Peninsula is one of the best day trips from Melbourne and I’m glad I got to spend my time with such great friends!
