Saul Good Gift Co

Enjoy a $10 discount on first time purchases of Saul Good Gift Baskets by using coupon 10OFF-DNL.

Saul Brown launched Saul Good Gift Co in 2006 with the mission to make gift-giving meaningful and good for the planet. During a brief stint working at a gift basket company while pursuing his MBA in Sustainable Business, Saul saw first-hand just how impersonal most gift baskets feel — complete with wasteful packaging and products that aren’t so delicious.

“The best gifts support local communities, bring joy to the recipient and make them feel appreciated and considered,” said Brown. Seeing an opportunity, Saul worked to create curated gifts filled with locally made, ultra-gourmet goodies.

Every Saul Good gift arrives in eco-friendly packaging that screams ‘open me!’ With joyful graphics adorning their exterior, their new boxes use 68% less paper, safeguarding over 478 trees from the recycling bin. And each gift comes complete with the opportunity to include a personalized greeting card – a rare yet thoughtful feature. Gift-givers will also be happy to hear that purchases generated over 92,000 hours of living wage employment with small businesses across Canada in 2021 – now that’s good gifting all around!

With a decadent collection of gifts for the holidays and events all year round, every gift basket is filled with the absolute best local treats that Saul and his team can find locally within Toronto, Vancouver and across the country. As Canada’s destination for locally-sourced gifts, you’ll find unique and memorable boxes celebrating everyone on your list. Think gourmet, wellness, snacks, charcuterie and even breakfast boxes too. There’s really no better way to celebrate the best that Canada has to offer.

Brown added, “our best-selling Toronto Foodie box is full of the city’s top artisan chocolates and pantry staples, making it a thoughtful gift for anyone on your list. From your foodie friend to your office BFF, that trusty neighbour or the family member who seems to have everything. It’s a lovely food tour of Toronto’s most iconic neighbourhoods all wrapped up in a box. My personal favourites are the Gianduja chocolate hazelnut dragees by Gouter. The Larochelle dark chocolate buttercrunch toffees deserve a mention here, too–her Leaside chocolate shop is an up-and-coming gem in the city, and we’re proud to feature her chocolate in our gift baskets. And who can forget about Riverdale’s Soul Chocolate? Their handcrafted Madagascar bar is always a first to disappear.”

Local sourcing is key to what makes Saul Good Gift Baskets special, featuring many top Toronto artisan producers as well as other best-in-class producers across Canada. Whether it’s celebrating the holidays, thanking a client, welcoming a new baby, or sending a housewarming present, Saul Good has an exceptional selection of hand-picked gifts to choose from.

Cocktail Emporium is the best Toronto gift basket brand for budding bartenders.
Cocktail Emporium is the best Toronto gift basket brand for budding bartenders.

Cocktail Emporium

Are you a newbie shaker meets mixer looking to up your cocktail game? Or do you already feel like a seasoned mixologist and simply want to stroll through your own slice of Nirvana? Fans of the slick sip head to Toronto’s artsy Queen West neighbourhood and pop in for a bartending binge at Cocktail Emporium.

Kristen Voisey first opened the doors at Cocktail Emporium in 2011. She offers a history lesson on her blossoming bartending business, “to tell the truth I had no experience in the cocktail industry when I opened the store. I had a large collection of vintage glassware that was a large part of the store’s offering when we first opened. I got the idea to open a cocktail themed store when I was in LA and came across a store called Bar Keeper that sold bar tools, vintage glassware and actual booze.”

When asked about the evolution of Toronto’s cocktail culture she chirps, “Our shop evolved with the cocktail industry. When we started there were a handful of bitters companies and today there are so many we can barely keep up, or fit them on the shelf. We expanded our bar tool selection to include very high end Japanese bar tools and glassware that sell very well. We were lucky that we opened just when the cocktail boom in Toronto started. We’ve expanded to a second location in Kensington Market called 1/2 oz Cocktail Emporium, are opening a third store at Union Station in early 2020 and offer international shipping online.”

Cocktail Emporium offers the best selection of Toronto gift baskets for bartender wannabes on your holiday hit list. Voisey explains, “We wanted to offer gift sets, featuring all of the items needed to make a specific cocktail, so our customers easily find one-of-a-kind gifts. Recently we also launched corporate gift packages, where companies can get beautiful engraving done on items as well as customize the packaging with its brand colours.”

Cocktail Emporium uniquely offers gift baskets focused on a particular cocktail or spirit, including the tools, ingredients and glassware to make a lovely libation. Some of Cocktail Emporium’s most popular gift sets are Moscow Mule and Manhattan Lovers.

In October 2019 Cocktail Emporium launched cocktail gift sets that will include bottles of alcohol, made possible by partnering up with RUNNER. Gift givers can visit the app and get a cocktail set complete with booze delivered the day of their order. Voisey adds, “We see this to be a great add on to our services in the gifting sector. Being able to send a gift complete with alcohol is truly convenient.”

Bright Baskets

Genina Brigden owns Bright Baskets, a luxury gift basket company in Toronto that specializes in bespoke gifting.

Brigden chats about how her company came to be, “I work for a construction company, which is made up of mostly men. Whenever a co-worker had a baby or got married I would be the one to find a gift basket to send to them. I spent hours on multiple occasions trying to find the perfect gift, which ended up being just, ok. It was Christmas 2016 when my boss asked if I could make gift baskets for him to give to clients. The response was amazing, resulting in quite a few more requests.”

In 2017 she launched the Bright Baskets brand. Brigden spent the majority of that year sourcing products and fulfilling custom orders for her clients.

Brigden tries to use as many Canadian products in her gift baskets as she can. She attends the Toronto Gift Show twice a year to see what new local products are trending.

Bright Baskets’ unique edge is Brigden’s ability to craft a truly customizable gift. She recently sold a gift basket to an outdoorsy couple who enjoy a good drink and playtime with their Bullmastiff. Their gift basket included a framed portrait of the dog, bottle of whisky, cocktail kit, vintage outdoor lamp and a canoe stamped wooden crate. Naked Snacks are the perfect Toronto Gift Baskets for healthy foodies.

Naked Snacks

Husband and wife team Neil and Ryley Thomson launched Naked Snacks in Vancouver in December 2014. The idea started one Sunday afternoon after Ryley watched Neil sit on the couch and eat an entire bag of chips on his own. She looked at him and said, “Dude, that’s disgusting.” Neil’s excuse for being a human junk food disposal was that healthy food doesn’t taste good. Soon after that, they started creating snack flavours that were both healthy, delicious and a much better alternative to nutrient-free potato chips.

The duo explain, “We see the trends in the gift basket delivery business moving towards healthier options. When someone sends a box of Naked Snacks, they’re really saying that they care about that person’s health and well-being.”

Ordering Naked Snacks is also a breeze as it allows customers to design their own gift basket by choosing the snacks they wish to include. For people with dietary restrictions it’s important that customers can build nut free and gluten free boxes. The sender can also add their own personalized message that is printed onto a card and placed inside the snack box.

Naked Snacks is proudly Canadian with all production taking place in the couples Vancouver kitchen. The snacks must meet nutritional specifications of 80% whole grown goodness and 20% earned indulgence.
