NOSH Restaurant in Rochester

Located in an old factory which dates back to 1919, Rochester’s new NOSH is the restaurant love child of owners John and Jackie Nacca and Pete Lezeska.

The restaurant is unique in that they didn’t hire an interior designer or put together a formal set of blueprints. The trio had been formulating the concept for four years with inspiration drawn from fave eateries in Chicago, New York City and Southern Florida. NOSH’s eye-catching chandelier which dangles over the bar was purchased two years before the restaurant even had a lease, proof that realizing your dreams requires baby steps.

Executive Chef Joseph Zolnierowski has an eclectic culinary background that contributes to the diversity of NOSH’s finger-licking-good menu. Chef Joe grew up outside of Tucson, Arizona and is son to a Polish father and Korean mother. Introduced to traditional Southwest, Korean, Polish and Barbecue cuisines in his childhood, he started his first kitchen job at the age of 15.

Inspired by his roots in Southeast Asian cuisine, hearty Polish dishes, and laid-back Southwest living, Zolnierowski constructed the menu accordingly. Highlights from Chef Joe’s NOSH kitchen include Korean Spaetzle with grilled gochujang chicken thigh, Crispy Asian Pork Ribs with snap pea salad and pickled vegetables, sweet peach and prosciutto topped pizza, juicy watermelon topped Shrimp Tostada, and decadent Five Layer Chocolate Cake.
