One month ago while relaxing on the beach in Thailand I received an email from Netflix Canada’s PR team. They asked if dobbernationLOVES would be interested in filming a promo video that would highlight our favourite Netflix Originals. You betcha!
The Netflix team gave me total creative control in dreaming up the concept: set, props, mood, snacks, guests and the overall editing style for the series. I wanted the show to really speak to what dobbernationLOVES is all about so we had a set designed to look like my apartment – indigenous masks and world map grace the walls ya’ll!
I love hosting dinner parties in my petite apartment in Toronto so ordered local faves from Mill Street Brewery and La Cubana. I invited some of my fave media babes to join me at the table for a finger-licking-good chit chat. We had a gay old time slurping craft beer and munching on spicy empanada.
Jonathan Morton Schuster from MTV/LOGO’s 1 Girl 5 Gays acted as the show’s friendly host. He crafted a list of hilarious questions relating to our favourite Netflix shows, entertaining a cute choir of local media mavens: OG blogger Casie Stewart from This is My Life, fashion qween Nelia Belkova from Style Blog and family travel guru Amanda Blakley from The Adventures of Atticus.

LOVE! and I too had the HUGEST collection of Archie comics. Love Riverdale – this is such a fun series, can’t wait to see more!
