The Oxley Public House in Yorkville

I had been meaning to check out the The Oxley ever since it first opened its doors. I’m a big fan of its sister property The Queen and Beaver which is known for offering up Toronto’s finest British pub fare. You can imagine how thrilled I was when I ever so randomly had the opportunity to feast at the Yorkville restaurant twice in a week!

My first visit was for lunch on a cold yet sunny Sunday. I was joined by my friend Christian and ordered the restaurants epic hand chopped burger which is infused with smokey bone marrow. I had enjoyed the same burger at The Queen and Beaver and was craving an indulgent encore. Christian and I enjoyed our meal while embarking on a serious catchup over ketchup. We hadn’t seen each other in over two years!

My second encounter would be a mid-week late night binge with my friend Malcolm. We enjoyed two cold sudsy bears while devouring an addictive Welsh Rabbit, refreshing Green Lentil and Mushroom Salad and a hearty Beef and Bacon Terrine. I’d say after two enthusiastic feasts in the span of a few days I have found my new favourite watering hole in Yorkville.

We nibbled:

Hand Chopped Burger and Chips

Welsh Rarebit

Green Lentil and Mushroom Salad with Roast Cipollini Dressing

Beef-Bacon Terrine and Urchfont Mustard
