I was recently contacted by the social media team at FadedSoul.com who were interested in having me review their Canadian based designer label fashion marketplace. I’m always up for trying something new and full disclosure here: this would be my first time ever ordering fashion via the web.
I’ve always been hesitant about ordering clothing, accessories and shoes on the internet. I’m a picky shopper and have always felt more comfortable trying things on to ensure they fit. I’m not exactly sample size, *cough *cough. I remember ages ago when eBay launched I had so many friends mention that they were addicted to buying discounted clothing online. I always raised my eyebrows and acted overly suspicious.
I’m not a total online shopping skeptic. For years I have been an avid Chapters Indigo fan having spent thousands of dollars on my personal collection of DVDs, CDs, Food Reference Texts, Cookbooks and Travel Guides. Sometimes I’d receive several boxes from Chapters a month. The difference being I never fret about a new novel “fitting onto my bookshelf properly.”
And so on one gloomy Autumn morning in Toronto I sat at my computer and whisked myself through their online shop. I scanned their mens section which featured John Varvatos, Hugo Boss, Puma, J Lindeberg and Diesel. I found a few items that I thought would be an ideal addition to my closet this Fall. I was impressed by the quality of their labels as well as the fact that many of the pieces were on sale.
I threw the following into my shopping bag:
I filled in my address details and a short three days later I had a pretty little box arrive at my doorstep. I sort of had my fingers crossed as I peeled open the box. I was so thrilled that my boots fit perfectly and both shirts fit like magic. I may just have been converted from an online clothing skeptic to a big fan!
