Review: Windigo Brunch at Fairmont Tremblant, Mont Tremblant

On our second morning in Mont Tremblant, Mum and I marched up to the Fairmont Tremblant and stopped in the lobby to take a few pictures of the warm Canadian welcome. Adorned with minuature canoes, a warm fire place and totem pole, the hotel greets you with an iconic Canadian wink.

Windigo is  located on the main floor and is connected to a bar which overlooks the hotel’s pool and Tremblant resort below. While I’m not typically a fan of buffet’s (food sitting, steam tables bubbling) Windigo offered some excellent options which showcase local culinary favorites. The restaurant is so popular that the food is constantly being refreshed so quality was never compromised.

Mum and I started with two glasses of grapefruit juice and coffee. My absolute favorite plates, which I styled and selected myself for your viewing pleasure: a plate of baked beans, crispy bacon and an absolutely addictive crepe covered in buttery maple syrup (I came back for seconds here). Another plate featured a fresh slice of banana bread, chocolate croissant, Quebec brie and cretons which I slathered on baguette. Eat your heart out!

Dobbernation, we love your photos, thank you for your story. Should you ever return to our region, you must try the Surf, Turf and Sushi buffet on Saturday nights. If you prefer passing on another buffet (even though our buffets are FAMOUS) try the Alsatian tarts in the Nansen Lounge to go along with one of our Après-ski cocktails. The “Collins au Romarin de Nadine” (Nadine’s rosemary Collins) is a favorite.

Thanks so much for your comment Natalie! I won’t be in Mont Tremblant anytime soon but will be doing press trips in 2013 featuring Vancouver, Whistler, Calgary, Banff, Quebec City, Montreal and Halifax. If there are any hotels and restaurants you feel I should connect with there let me know!
