Wish Restaurant in Yorkville

My final (and fifth) Summerlicious review in Yorkville was at Wish Restaurant located on the corner of Yonge and Charles Street just south of Bloor. I invited my fellow food writer and photographer buddy Karolyne for our date. She always dresses with a creative funk, so top drawer. I was pleasantly surprised by the Yorkville restaurant (and honestly can’t believe I had never come across it before). The patio is heavenly and a great spot for people watching. The decor especially around the bar showcases an urban meets Martha Stewart farmhouse feel. The service was excellent and dishes thoughtfully represented the season.

I actually joined Instagram (after massive delay, apologies) an hour before arriving at the restaurant so will fondly remember my meal at Wish as I contrasted and saturated each image of their food to maximize the nomnom factor. I particularly loved the roar from the tiger striped angolotti as well as the vibrant green of the rapini which adorned our piri piri chicken. I think it’s official. I’ve become that instagram obsessed food writer. Each spoonful tasted just as good as the pictures looked. And that’s a gold star on my Wish list.
