Apple Pear and Fig Crumble with Ricotta Frangelico Cream


Apple Crisp is one of the easiest desserts to whip together. It comes second to “opening a tub of ice cream” in the challenging department. This charming dessert brings me back to my childhood and is the best comfort food on a cold winters night. I wanted to celebrate some of my favorite flavours: apple, pear, fig, toffee and hazelnut. I also prepared an accompanying “cream” which compliments the hot crunch of the crisp when properly smothered.

You will need:

Honey Crisp apples

Bartlett pears

fresh figs

lemon juice

flour

butter

cinammon

sugar

nutmeg

rolled oats

skor toffee bits

chopped roasted hazelnuts

ricotta

honey

frangelico

greek yogurt

Directions:

Peel, core and slice apples and pears. Toss in lemon juice and scrape into a cobbler baking dish. In a seperate bowl mix flour, butter, cinnamon, sugar, nutmeg, oats, skor toffee bits and chopped hazelnuts. Mix together until topping is well incorporated. Slice fresh figs and place on top of apple and pear mixture. Cover baking dish with crumble topping. Bake for 45 minutes at 300 F.

Once Crumble is in the oven prepare the accompanying cream. In a small bowl mix ricotta and greek yogurt. Add honey and Frangelico Liquer to taste. Once Crumble is out of the oven let sit for 10 minutes. Serve with Ricotta Frangelico Cream.

    Perfect with a hot cup of coffee, thanks for the recipe. Got to say I nailed it on the first attempt so great explanation too. If I can do it anyone can.
