Brownstone Bistro is located on Yonge Street just north of Wellesley Station seconds from my apartment. When my good friend Jonathan moved to the The Village I decided to take him out here for brunch to celebrate! The breakfast/lunch crowd is a popular one, I was lucky to nab the last two seats for us! As many of you know, the gays love brunch (we practically invented it). Most of our ears are ringing from last nights dancing, the thumping bass…as we shovel eggs and toast into our mouths. Jonathan and I enjoyed our mid morning feast whilst chatting about the New Year, apartment decorations and the pros and cons to living in the gayest neighborhood in the country (no cons came to light).
We enjoyed:
California Melt
open faced sandwich on ciabatta with guacamole, tomato, grilled chicken, mango pieces topped with a blend of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses
La Casserola
homemade hasbrowns and a delicious assortment of scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon tossed with fresh veggies and topped with hollandaise sauce
Breakfast Spanikota
blend of spinach, green onions, feta cheese and a hint of dill, wrapped in a phylo pastry, topped with a poached egg and drizzled with a chipotle hollandaise
The Smooth Move Smoothie
Mini Banana Muffins
