The County General on Queen West in Toronto

The County General has recently been getting a lot of buzz. I visited last week, three weeks after they opened their doors at Queen and Shaw.

Located in the old Oddfellows space, The County General exudes a sense of intimacy with a Canadiana flare. I sat by the window overlooking Queen Street, a cute little nook with a view of the entire restaurant and bar.

Service was great and I really enjoyed how our dishes were served on wood cutting boards (little things that make me happy). I really need to head back for their brunch or late night menu whilst quaffing a few cocktails.

We enjoyed:

Fried Chicken Thigh Sandwich

buttermilk chicken, milk bun, avocado chutney, coriander, green onion and fries with smokey ketchup

Smoked Pork Belly and Steamed Buns

kimchi, avocado chutney, green apple slaw
