Sausage Feast at Wvrst on King West

The moment I found out that a German beer hall had opened on Toronto’s King West a bell went off in my head and I think a few angels got their wings. I recently visited Wvrst on King Street West with two friends. We hopped up by the bar and stared in awe at their extensive beer offerings. This “sausage house” most certainly has one of the most extensive (and exemplary) beer menus in the city.

We first ordered our beers and then mulled over our sausage offerings. We opted for traditional frites rather than the ones fried in duck fat and ran our fingers down the dips menu. I am so pleased this King West restaurant has arrived! It is the perfect spot to grab a quick tummy filling dinner and more importantly quench thy thirst on a wide array of premium brews. Flat out: if any gay asked me out on a date to Wvrst I’d smile hard.

We enjoyed:

WEIHENSTEPHAN, Hefeweizen

Oktoberfest (pork and mustard) sausage on a fresh roll with caramelized onions and sauerkraut

Bratwurst (veal pork and wine) sausage on a fresh roll with caramelized onions and sauerkraut

Guinea Fowl (Old Cheddar/Asparagus) Currywurst on country bread with tomato curry sauce

frites with Wvrst spicy dip and maple rosemary dip
