I was given a slice of Morning Moon when I visited Fifth Town Cheese on my Prince Edward County FORD Foodie Road Trip.
Morning Moon is made in the same style as their Cape Vessey and Bonnie & Floyd but with cows’ milk from Jean McCornock’s farm just down the road from the dairy in Prince Edward County. This cheese is a washed rind single note cow’s milk cheese, naturally aged. A thick terracotta-coloured rind covers the chewy, dense, firm, creamy, pale butter yellow paste. Savour full on flavour – earthy mixed with salt, fruit and a hint of spice.
