I recently visited Khao San Road on Adelaide with a few of my work colleagues. Perfect timing as I had been eagerly waiting to find a window of opportunity to indulge. This brand new eatery had received rave reviews across the board and was being dubbed the best Thai restaurant downtown. Not shocking as the concept was brought to the city by our friends at Sukothai in the East End.
The restaurant is incredibly popular so if you are inkling at going to lunch during the work week make sure to make a reservation or you’ll be standing in a line that smells of desperation. The service was prompt even though it was clear the staff were slammed. Everything tasted amazing. Must return for dinner I hear they have pumpkin fritters!
We enjoyed:
Cha Nom Yen
an infusion of Thai spices and black tea balanced with condensed milk and served over crushed ice
Po Pia Pak Sod Gai Yaw
fresh rolls filled with home made chicken sausage, lettuce, carrots, mint leaves and Thai basil, served wtih tamarind, garlic sauce topped with peanuts and corriander
Red Curry of the Day
served with steamed rice
Pad Thai Street Style
Khao Soi
tender braised beef with egg noodles in a coconut milk enriched curry and garnished with crisp fried noodles, green onion and slice of lime

Khao Soi is my fav!
Also craving the tea now thanks to u lol
This is on my “list.”
