My friends at Krombacher recently invited me to one of their favorite restaurants in Toronto, Tappo Restaurant and Wine Bar. This fantastic Italian restaurant is located in Toronto’s East End Distillery District in a beautiful 18th century heritage building. The staff are insatiably friendly and well versed on their beer, wine and food menus. We arrived shortly before 10pm and were the last table to leave just after midnight. There is simply nothing better than sharing good food, beer and wine with friends into the wee hours of the evening.
My favorite dish was the duck and fig risotto, with the gnocchi a quick runner up. Be sure to order as many of the pasta dishes as possible they are all perfectly executed on the plate. Be sure to swing by Tappo as the city heats up this summer. Their patio sits on Mill Streets cobblestone streets. A perfect spot to grab a Pils, soak in the sun and people watch your weekend away.
