Review: Utopia, Toronto

Was ever so pleased to meet Steph Brown at her favourite restaurant in Little Italy. Cutesy Utopia located on College at Clinton Street is a friendly joint which gets packed up on weekends with the brunch crowd. The menu features the usual dips, poutine and nachos but the spot is best known for their lengthy burrito and burger offerings. The chef has switched up many classic dishes and put a twist on them for your dining pleasure. Sample as much as possible as there are far too many treats on the menu to choose from. If you are heading here on a weekend try your best to arrive earlier than later as the line ups can be daunting (especially if you are nursing a hangover).

We enjoyed:

A Caesar (which slapped me in the face)

Lamb Sausage Poutine

Merguez sausage, brie cheese and gravy

Mumahari Dip

Roasted red peppers with pomegranate molasses and walnuts with grilled naan

Crispy-Fried Chicken and Avocado Burrito

crispy chicken karage with sliced avocado, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, grilled onions, lettuce, karashi mayo and salsa. Served with Costa Rican black bean rice and sesame slaw
