Wine Tour of The Barossa Valley, Australia

I spent a very memorable day road tripping out of Adelaide through Australia’s most famous wine growing region, the Barossa Valley. Kate Walsh picked me up in her car and we spent the day driving from one world renowned winery to the next. I will never forget the blue sky that day, the heavens seemed to go on forever. We had a chance to visit the estates of Wolf Blass, Elderton, Penfolds, Peter Lehman, St. Hallett, Grant Burge and Jacob’s Creek. We may have been to a few more but my recollection of any wine glasses sloshed in between those select few wineries is lost on me. We also stopped off at Maggie Beir’s famous Pheasant Farm Restaurant to check out her many fruit pastes, jams and pate’s. It was a super fun day as we listened to Lily Allen on the drive between each vineyard. As a wine enthusiasts it had been my dream for some time to visit this region. Bucket List: check.
