Wellington is the undisputed capital of culture, the arts, restaurants, fashion and nightlife in New Zealand. It’s home to the largest cultural attraction in Kiwi-land, The Te Papa Museum, which is well worth a look (and it’s free). The Te Papa may just be the most modern, interactive and fun museum I have ever been to. It features the mummified remains of the worlds largest squid which was caught by a Kiwi fisherman. The museum had an interesting exhibit of Kiwi Contemporary Art. Maori tattoo nudes and fences covered in hair! I ran into Alix Dunham in Welly’ a friend from Oakville. It was nice to see a familiar face after being away from home for almost two years!
