Travel to Melbourne, Australia

I spent two lovely weeks in May 2009 hanging out in Melbourne Australia with some great friends. I arrived from Auckland after a month hopping about New Zealand’s North and South Islands.

Melbourne reminded me a lot of my home town of Toronto. Classic architecture, street cars, restaurant culture, excellent galleries and museums and great comedy clubs (Dame Edna we bow).  Highlights included coffee culture in St.Kilda and Luna Park,  Richmond prancing, the excellent market and gay hood in Prahran and the fantastical boutique fashionistas of Fitzroy.

I want to thank Eleanor Eshel and Jesse Gelfand, two friends I met in Vietnam for truly showing me a great time in Melbourne. Jesse’s family gave me a home in St. Kilda for several days which was so generous of them! I met Helen Markopoulos in Boracay and had a blast with her at my first Aussie Rules Footy match. Thank you all for being such amazing guides. You were patriotic urbanite and my pictures and memories of our time together are dedicated to you!
