Review: The Grilled Cheese, Toronto

The Grilled Cheese is everyone’s favorite spot in Kensington Market to grab a bite. This sandwich spot specializes in two things: gourmet grilled cheese and  tomato soup. The interior of the restaurant is very Canadadiana with framed  Muskoka imagery and Canadian wildlife (along with many mason jars of preserved Ontario fruits and vegetables).

Each Grilled Cheese comes with a dill pickle and a few potato chips to munch on. It is best to order the tomato soup it provides ample dunking opportunities for your crusts.

We enjoyed:

The Grill Works: swiss, provolone, roasted red pepper, onion and portabello.

The Black Jack: Jalapeno Havarti, tomato, spinach, black olive pesto.

Grilled Motzy: fiore di late mozerella, basil pesto, sundried tomato, arugula, balsamic vinaigrette.

#94 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
