Review: The Mascot, Toronto

In the heart of Parkdale on Queen Street West (at Elm Grove Avenue) sits a new little funky espresso and art joint. The owners of The Mascot have created an art gallery space with revolving exhibits and an antique espresso bar experience. Read: hipster friendly. The owner is a riot and a great convesrsationalist. He explained that the space will also be used for film screenings and community art events. Pop by the Mascot for a latte, espresso or one of their loose leaf teas. They also have some great pastries.

We enjoyed a soy latte, mint tea, marshmallow and caramel cupcake, nutella  croissant and focaccia stuffed with sundried tomatoes and caramelized onions.

#92 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
