Review: Caplansky’s Delicatessen, Toronto

As everyone knows meat is delicious. I also love The Jews and was excited to finally hit up Toronto’s much loved Caplansky’s Jewish Deli. Dearest Meaghan Lamb lives just a stones throw from the restaurant so we met here to catch up. We had not seen each other since I had been newly unemployed and I was eager to hear about how her food styling internship had panned out.

The interior of the restaurant was clean cut and made me feel sanitary (odd things to say but I just felt like I was in a well kept establishment!) I love their blue and white motif it complimented the blue sky that we were having today (and after months of grey I couldn’t be happier!)

We ordered a plate of potato latke’s with apple sauce and sipped on our beers while unwinding before a busy day of having nothing to do. We munched on smoked meat on rye which I dipped in honey mustard. All plates were licked clean. Pickles were properly devoured.

#70 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.

Yes their sandwiches were nice. The latkes were were dry and my friend thinks my matzha ball soup is better. I love the interior!

I need to sample the whole menu!

The tongue and grilled Versht super stuff! Starting to get consistent some early issues with the smoked meat curing process.
