Review: Nirvana Restaurant, Toronto

Sitting at 434 College Street is a restaurant and bar space which offers a simple and creative menu (think cheap and cheerful) as well as a great drinks menu. I walked into Nirvana and enjoyed the open concept space with variable table tops and an antiqued appeal. I was thrilled to hear Bjork’s Volta album playing over the sound system. I commented to the waitress, “the only time I ever hear these songs are in my room, how charming that I cam come to a bar and screech a bit with this Icelandic diva!”

I ordered a delicious bottle of Ambroise Apricot Wheat Ale. My companion and I shared a basket of sweet potato fries covered in cheese, bacon bits, green onions, and peppers with sour cream for dipping. AND we also enjoyed a small basket of pita with eggplant curry and Yogurt.

This spot has great drink specials (on Wednesday nights we were happy to discover that imported and premium beer bottles were discounted!) Shwing!

#14 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
