Review: Le Petit Dejeuner, Toronto

At 191 King Street East sits one of the cities favorite brunch spots, Le Petit Dejeuner. This French/Belgian inspired restaurant also features classic bistro favorites at lunch and dinner. I popped by here for breakfast and ordered the most simple of breakfast offerings…I figure if they can’t fry and egg or crisp their bacon they aren’t worth mentioning. I ordered the Hungry Gal: two eggs, toast, potato rosti, apple coleslaw and bacon. A hot cup of java and one is good to go in this cutesy comfortable space.

Note: the chef does NOT like people taking pictures of him (or even in his direction) he actually came out of the little kitchen and told me never to take a picture in that direction again. Talk about photo shy! Also, they don’t really like vegetarians (see funny meat loving poster below). So I would highly encourage all raw foodies and vegans to run to this place and try to make as many menu adjustments as possible just to irritate the chef. Maybe take a few photo flashes in his eye to stun him. Shwing!

#11 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
