Review: Cloud Free Agent Espresso Bar, Toronto

Located a stones throw from Queen Street West and Ossington at 968 Queen Street West, CLOUD is the new space Queen Street Car riders are buzzing about. Before I visited the store I had several friends mention to me “that Cloud place that has those big windows just east of Ossington.” Thousands of people pass by this storefront as the street car screeches through the city. It is worth your while to stop off next time you are in the hood.

This cafe is more than your usual sip and ponder chill spot. The owner has created this space for Free Agents in mind (those of us who work freelance and don’t have an office to work from). The basement features a great contemporary meeting space that can be rented for meetings. On the top floor you will find a selection of seasonal soups, pastries, sandwiches and baguette. The barista carefully prepares excellent brew with a thoughtful little complimentary earl grey tea shortbread.

Once you visit CLOUD you will be hard pressed not to spend hours on one of their bar stools staring out over Queen Street reading a book, scribbling down next weeks grocery list or just losing yourself as a habitual people watcher.

#7 restaurant reviewed in Ontario since moving to Toronto in 2010.
